Introducing a New Generation to Problem Solving and Innovation
Since the mid-2000s there’s been a growing fascination with creative problem solving and do-it-yourself (DIY) solutions. While the element of creative problem solving has long been an emphasis at Walsh Manufacturing, we’ve watched with fascination the growing desire of the general public to apply creativity and a DIY approach to applications within their own sphere of reference. While some speculate the desire for DIY solutions sprung from depressed economic times, we believe this spirit of innovation has long existed within the manufacturing industry. Unfortunately, its applications were not always visible to the general public.
Today with events such as the popular Maker’s Faire, held in cities throughout the world, consumers are seeing first-hand the magic of innovative thinking and problem solving that’s long been a cornerstone of Walsh Manufacturing’s services to the consumer products industry. Events such as the Maker’s Faire empower individuals to take their own innovative approach to discovery and problem solving. Established in 2006 by Make magazine, the Maker’s Faire celebrates the DIY mindset of science, crafts, arts, and engineering, and is now a worldwide example of the power of innovation.
Passing the Torch
By celebrating the importance of a process marked by trial and error, a new generation is able to discover the benefits of an ecosystem of products and services designed around manufacturing and new innovations. As a company who has long believed in the importance of the problem solving approach, this is an exciting time that showcases resourcefulness, creativity, and innovation.
For more than five decades the employees of Walsh Manufacturing have embraced these innovation ideals and paired them with unmatched technical support. Some of our recent projects include the design and construction of equipment for temperature regulation for lip balm products, sealing equipment for spices, and a rebuild of a paper conversion machine designed for a manufacturer of tape and adhesive products.
The connection between these projects is the application of a custom solution for a custom problem each and every time. With a half century of manufacturing experience, we’ve found there’s never a typical customer or a typical solution. This means each project starts with a thorough analysis of the problem from the unique perspectives of Walsh Manufacturing’s experienced manufacturing staff.
A dedicated and personal approach to problem solving keeps each project customer-centric. As a result, all elements address the unique needs and demands using custom engineering and fabrication techniques.
